Hi folks,

I did some photography and also some astronomy in the "old" days of film and mostly visual astronomy. I have recently been inspired to take up vaguely serious photography again and have also decided to try my hand at astrophotography after seeing the fantastic images that people are producing with modern equipment and image processing techniques.

It will be a while before I'm producing any decent astro images - I just bought a scope, but I don't have a mount yet, much less any experience  Anyway, here are a few of the terrestrial images I have taken recently. Creative criticism happily accepted...

Thanks,
Rick.

No criticism from me!
A wonderful set of images and number 3 does it for me.

I don't like the last one at all...a bit snap shottish...

However!!!! The first, second and third are all awesome for different reasons.

The first has captured motion, action, intent, destination, purpose, stages, mystery and beauty all at once!

The second is beautifully focused to draw your eye straight to the attitude of our cheeky native.

The third is a great example of how a good photographer can capture such motion while still keeping it tremendously sharp.

WELL DONE from me.

Baz.

Thanks, Baz and Duncan. I appreciate your thoughts. This seems like a very nice forum. Lots of knowledge and not too much attitude, if you know what I mean!

Cheers,
Rick.
