The APOD today has the infrared view of M42 by the Spitzer Space Telescope. A totally different view of the Orion nebula.

I like this footnote.
The infrared telescope ran out of coolant May 15, 2009, more than five-and-a-half-years after launch. It has since warmed to a still-frosty 30 degrees Kelvin (about minus 406 degrees Fahrenheit).
I am sure there are a few here that would like to get their hands on that sort of cooled temp for their CCD.:lol:
