View Full Version here: : Saturn 10-4-10
Hi,
Here is my picture of Saturn taken from last night. I have also added a picture taken on the 20-2-10 to show a comparison on the rings. Nearly two months and you can see a lot of change with the rings closing up. :)
Cheers :drink:

Hi Troy,
Great pair of images. Waited for them both to load and then blinked them and a huge difference between them.
The latest image has so much more detail showing.
Excellent.
Cheers,
Duncan:)
Thanks Ducan,
I uploaded the wrong picture for 20-2-10 which is now fixed. :D
Thanks for the tip off the difference is not as great now.

Very good shots. What was your capture speed and f/ratio?
Hi Doodles23,
My focal ratio is 32.8. I'm shooting 34 fps with an exposure of 29ms for the red and green channels. The blue is a lot less with 17 fps but because your dragonfly 2 camera is firewire your settings will be a little different. If you use 15 fps for an example, your exposure should match it (I'm told) so for 15 fps your exposure is 15ms.
It’s interesting to look at the ring brightness. I have been pondering why is it so- my theory is the rings have the same amount of brightness but less surface area to give out the same amount of light. So on earth it looks brighter when it's not. :atom:
I think that makes sense?
If you have the real answer or another theory let me know!
