If I were a male orb-weaver, I'd probably think "HOT STUFF!"
I'm not, so, after the cold shiver subsides, I'll limit my comments to that is a truely spectacular picture!

Wow – what an amazing photo with extraordinary detail and clarity! I think that I can see the articulated or ball & socket joints where the front legs meet the body.

Nice one Jason. It has a HDR feel to it ... how was it lit?

Lit just with the camera flash, I delayed it to reduce glare. the HDR look comes from useing layermasking to blend a sharpend image with the originagl. i also blend a highpass filter.
