Well we had a line of active thunderstorms go through here early this morning so I went out and captured the series below. the images are quite noisy, which I think is mainly due to the high heat levels while taking the images, I tried running through noiseware but tripped in the process. :nerd:

well i am having a hard time faulting them, but if you reckon they are noisy, then ok, they are noisy.


but apart from that these are great!!

#4 is my favourite then #3 then #1

I tried my hand at some lightning shots but they didn't even come close to yours.

Great stuff, even though number 5 had less lightning I liked the effect with the cloud.
Couldn't notice the noise, until I turned the volume up. :)

Settings on the camera slightly varied, the only thing that stayed the same was the apature. This stayed at F5.6 throughout the whole time. I was thinking of changing it but decided not to. Exposure times varied from a few seconds to a few more seconds and none greater than 10 seconds. The S7000 only goes to 15 seconds. i used bulb mode so when the strike happened I just relesed the cable so I didnt wash out the lightning.
