What is this

I was mucking around with my Pentax Optio 33l on a tripod and pointing it roughly at Orion and towards the Crux I am not sure which this picture is from and was wondering if anyone could help with identification of the feature in the bottom right of the frame this was with no magnification I will include the photo info now. There were other pictures that didn't show anything like this so I dont think it was something wrong with the camera.

You'd need longer to pick up stars at this focal length and exposure time etc I say'd it's some kind of noise or amp glow

Very upsetting to see amp glow after 4 secs???

I took this photo with the same camera and the same settings and it shows the stars Alnitak,Alnilam,Mintaka,Bellatrix and Betelgeuse all in the correct positions and I forgot to mention that the speed was set at 400.

Yeah Warren that's more like it for 4 seconds you are only likely to pick up the brightest stars the first frame to me looks more like hot pixels you'd get taking a dark frame as to the smudge IMHO you are unlikely to show any nebula in a single 4 second sub

Yeah I thought as much about the smudge but I was hoping. But it looks like I will be able to pick up bright stars is that correct? The camera only has a night mode and doesn't allow changing many settings manually. But it is fun to play with.:thumbsup:

Should be fine for lunar shots Afocal and bright stars

Any bright lights in the direction you were shooting Warren? It could be a lens flare/reflection. It is unusual though

No there were no bright lights in the direction of the shot and I have a few other interesting things in some of the other shots as well
