Hi all,

For sale is my Canon EOS 40D which was Baader filter modified by our very own Eric (EzyStyles).

If you're looking for a multi-purpose astrophotography/terrestrial photography camera, do not be put off by the fact that the camera is modified. This camera has been used as my backup camera for weddings and has not skipped a beat. The autofocus mechanism on the 40D is absolutely flawless. Some even say it's better than the more expensive releases. There are several ways to deal with the pink tinge the Baader filter leaves on the images; one is to use a white balance tool to fix white balance in post-processing, fix it manually in post-processing (click on something that's either neutral grey or white), and/or set custom white balance in the camera. None of these are difficult to do and will return the camera into a very respectable terrestrial imaging instrument.

Edit: an added advantage that the 40D has over the older generation 300D to 30D is that this camera has a 14-bit sensor, rather than a 12-bit sensor. This gives a greater dynamic range.

Package includes:

Camera
Battery
Original packaging
Overseas charger with Australian converter
Genuine Canon AC adapter ACK-E2 (I bought this new recently)

If you are perhaps thinking of buying the camera but are not in a position to afford it all in one hit, I am open to taking lay-by payments over a 4-6 week period.

If you wish to take me up on that offer, I will need a deposit of 20% paid up by Friday 16th, April. I am going away on holidays after that. Payments need not be started until the first week of May. So this also gives you about 3 weeks to raise funds.

Do note, that if you wish to take advantage of the delayed payment, the full price as listed in the original message stands -- non negotiable.

If you think this might make it easier for you, feel free to email me at octane2 AT optusnet DOT com DOT au and we can take it from there.

All correspondence will be kept confidential.
