Hi guys,
For sale is a William Optics ZenithStar FD80 Anniversary Edition fluorite doublet refractor.
It is an 80mm, f/6.9, 552mm focal length refractor.
Note: this is not the white tube version -- this is the race car red one.
Typical of William Optics scopes, it's a delight to use.
I originally purchased this for widefield imaging, but, it ended up being used as a guidescope. My STL-11000M will arrive this week so I no longer have a requirement for this scope. I have taken only one image through it; click here (http://users.tpg.com.au/octane2/Border_Stargaze_-_Wymah_Valley_20090822_Tarantula.ht ml) to view it. Mind you, this is a 2/3rd frame crop towards right of frame.
As you can see, for best results, you will most probably need to get a William Optics 0.8x PFLAT-II focal reducer/field flattener, or a William Optics PFLAT-IV flattener for optimal results.
It's been well looked after, although the primary objective could do with a bit of a wipe. I will clean it thoroughly with a Lenspen before it goes to its new home.
Comes with William Optics aluminium case, rotatable focuser, 2" diagonal, 2" to 1.25" adapter, L-bracket, and an extension tube.
