I have just purchase a 0.63 Focal Reducer for my C9.25 and thought that i would give it a try. What with the moon and some heavy cloud cover it hasn't been a particularly good week for imaging. I revisited M46 and tried to see how much detail I could 'tweak'out in the Planetary nebula that is associated with this cluster.

C9.25 with Meade 0.63 FR, GstarEx 1000 L, 250 RGB frames with Dark and flats applied. Processed with CCDStack and Photoshop CS4

All the best

Hi Paul

Did you use any form of guiding when taking this, also what was the exposure time per frame and was this the best 250 frames out of a larger number

Hi Trevor, The Gstar was in sense up 128 mode so 2.5 secs per frame. 1000 Lum frames were taken with 600 stacked. RGB was 250 frames each with the best 150 of each stacked. This is all unguided at present, I have just picked up an autoguider from Leon and waiting for it to arrive. :)

I know Brendan but as decreed by the God's of weather the best nights are only allowed to fall on the dates that I am working nightshift!! Either that or it's because i bought some new equipment.

all the best

Paul
