Had some spare time, so made up a thousand oaks solar filter for my new zs66 and did some test shots of the sun. I have been thinking about getting a dedicated solar Ha for this scope or a dedicated solar scope...still have not made up my mind.

I've always liked the views that this solar filter gives.
Would be nice to capture some sunspots on there too.

I thought you had a couple of sunspots there, but they didn't move when I dragged the window...:rolleyes::P

For my 2c, I'd suggest getting a Ha filter and blocking filter and adapters to suit both this scope and the ED80. I'm impressed with my SM40 on my ED80, so my next step solar-wise would be a larger aperture Ha filter.:thumbsup:

What aperture etalon should I get for starters? I am thinking the Lunt 35mm to start with..or would the 50mm be better...
