Hi All,

A few good nights of late, last night was an unexpected one, cloudy all through the day, only to clear up at night. Someone must have bought something and still be awaiting delivery.

Anyway, a few nights back I embarked on a Ha mosaic of the Eta Carina region with the GSO. Here's the result so far.

I tried to upload the full resolution version, but Google sites cracked it and wouldn't display it. This one is a 50% reduction.

Six hours of Ha data, processed in CCDStack, them Photoshop did the mosaic, really well I think.

Cheers

The high res has some breathtaking detail mate... Absolutely superb!

How far do you intend to extend the mosaic?

Excellent Stuart, the kind of detail you see on a 16803 pic.

Ive wasted all day trying to process a 3 panel mosaic with the panels taken over several months, its a nightmare, the gradients are horrendous, just impossible to match.

So I can appreciate the effort thats gone into this image, top work.

Very well put together. Fantastic detail. How much further are you going to take the mosaic?

Yep, that's a whole lot of total awesome.

Curious, what bandpass is your filter?

Excellent effort, Stuart.

Just wonderful Stuart - such clarity of detail - allows you to zoom down into structures made up of the dark dust like one of those Mandelbrot set programs....! ;)

:eyepop: Very nice indeed. Lovely details in there. Maybe a tad clipped in the black. Can't wait to get my AO and tackle this one at F/10. That kind of pic motivates me.

Started doing some Ha on this myself last night but got clouded out. I was doing 15 minute subs but really think I need to go with 20 or 25 minutes subs.

Excellent image BTW. love the detail.
