Yes I deal with RBI with the u9000 chip. I have both a 16803 and u9000, with the u9000 being one of the first chips. I do have pre-flash avalible but I do not like the noise it adds. So I do a pretty good dither and use strong rejection methods to deal with it. I normally only shoot one target a night so it is somewhat limiting. The 16m has no issues.

On the other had it is very sensitive at my FL of 4300mm. I am part of an internation team who studies Star Streams and recently a professional at Max-Planck measured my detections down to 29 mag/arcsec2 from my back yard :)

Awesome image Ken, so smooth yet so nicely detailed. Every bit of your tutorials present there.

What was your sub lengths Ken? I am trying to get my head around this for galaxy work with the RC8 and the QSI. I did some Ha subs on M83 over the weekend at 15 minutes and thought it was ok but I could have devoted longer sub lengths. Any thoughts on sub length with 1600mm plus focal length?

My subframes were 900 seconds. Sub frame length is depedant on a few things. My good friend John Smith and done some interesting work about it. Good reading here...

BTW I use CCDAP4 for image aquizition and he has a subframe calculator in it that does it for you :)

That's a mighty fine image, Ken.

We usually call Centaurus A the hamburger galaxy because it looks like one visually - but this one looks much more like one in an image than Centaurus A does!

Fabulous image Ken. Super detailed and the star streams are nicely showing, something other images do not show.

With your MMOAG and ST402ME which of the eyepiece holders do you use to get it in focus? I have the same and have yet to get it to focus the ST402 with refractors.

Well on the RCOS at home I use the helical focuser but on the Moorook 14.5" it is the push pull one. It has to do with the distance between the Main CCD and the 402 chip. Don Goldman makes different sized spacers that you can put between your filterwheel and the MMOAG. I found I had to put a small 6 mm spacer to get it right.

Also Don makes an adaptor that you can unscrew the 402 noise piece and install his adaptor for a really nice fit.
