I'm looking to buy a new 22-24" computer monitor. I had assumed I would get a TN monitor as IPS is just too expensive for me. I now find I can get an IPS for about 1.5x the TN (rather than 3x that I expected).
The IPS is supposed to have truer colour rendition but has a slower response time (5ms vs 14ms). The old articles say that IPS is best for image processing (and I'm beginning to take my photography more seriously) but that the faster response time of TN is needed to watch video (which may happen). However the colour fidelity of the TN is supposed to have improved and the response time of the IPS has improved. So what is the difference these days?? Is it worth the extra money for the IPS??
