Hi all,

I was setting up my camera on the tripod to get some shots of a nice yellow moonrise last night, and realised that this jet was going to pass in front of the Moon. Unfortunately I didn't get time to focus properly , but I still managed to capture it and I thought the result was worth posting.

Cheers,
Stephen

Well done!! What a shame about the focus, would have been a cracker of a shot, but is still a beauty.

Nice one Stephen. :cool2: I wonder if it was the same jet Jeanette saw, but didn't have camera in hand?

Yep yep yep, what Paul said.
It was very exciting, even though I had no camera set up.
Nicely nabbed Stephen, and who cares about focus.
Congratulations!!

Good job Stephen,

Just never know what opportunities may present.

Well done on this capture.

Thanks Liz, Paul, Nettie and Trevor!

I almost didn't bother posting this image due to the poor focus - and I'm still annoyed that I didn't set up 5 seconds earlier! Having captured this once, however, I can see myself lining up to try again in a month's time.

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Stephen

VERY,VERY well done!

That is exceptionally fine work Stephen,I am in envy! that is something

I have allways wanted to do!

I can see enough detail to tell it a Boeing 737 900 series.

well done,cheers Chris

Thanks Chris!

Yes, I know what you mean. I've seen images like this before and always wanted to capture it myself. I'm glad to have done so, but would be much happier if the focus was sharp.

Cheers,
Stephen

You have done well,to do a capture like that is extrmerly difficult,as others have mentioned,-a little out of focus,is nothing to much-as in the field, you have to take advantage of a opportunity when its there. To be able to see the opportunity coming-as you did,-not many people can take the advantage, yet alone see it.

Here is a pic my son took with a canon power shot SX100 IS,its fairly good focus, but heat haze makes it a bit blurry, when cropped, this is un cropped.

Once again he took advantage of something he could see had merit.

Hope this is of interest

That is so good, with such a small time frame well done indeed.
