I have had some processing issues to work through and only have Ha and Oiii filters so this is very much synthetic colour but I am please with the result - I promise not to post any more Eta shots now...

Keep posting them John. It looks like a hand reaching out touching an atomic mushroom cloud - nice image.

The colour balance is nice anyway though, and nice detail, excellent.

Thanks Fred, Marc and Wayne.

To be honest this is the first time I have managed to produce an image (in colour) using my mono ccd that I am really happy with - I had so many issues with the filter wheel (the usb controller) focusing and post processing that I was only doing one filter per night and then I had a stream of family and work issues that left me with many incomplete wips.

It has taken me a year nearly to get to this, one year ago I was using an unmodded Canon 20d, Vixen VC200L and SXW mount, now I have the Opticstar 145M (still have the 20d), Atik usb filter wheel, astronimic LRGB, Ha and Oiii filters, a G11G and a 127mm North Group APO. You will understand I been through a bit of a learning curve and I am very happy with this one - I am used to getting lost in the details of other peoples images but for the first time I can get lost in one of my own...

Thanks for the inspiration guys!

Nice work John - I've become a recent convert to the Ha/OIII Synthetic RGB. Works really well on certain DSOs like Eta emphasizing the contrast/detail in the object.
