Hello,
Here are some macro and close up shots taken in Roma Street Gardens recently. The fly “poohing” is a first for me! I think the frog is an Eastern Sedge Frog?
All taken with Canon 40D and Canon 100mm F2.8 macro lens…and plenty of patience!
Thanks for looking!
Cheers

Thanks guys – your words of appreciation made the 5:30am start worthwhile, not to mention dodging the showery weather! :)
Oh, and a correction: the dragonfly & frog were taken with the 70-200 F4 L at 200mm.

Hi Ron
Hmm, flattened fly photography eh?;)
This particular specimen was very cooperative; it was either tired or sick as I was able to manoeuvre around it to progressively get closer and better shots.:)
I wasn’t aware of it at the time, but after uploading the images I noticed the milky white sphere being excreted by the fly which on the next shot, appeared as a hemispherical blob on the leaf. I’m assuming it was the fly doing its number two’s!
Here is a full resolution crop of the eye.
Cheers

Amazing shots Dennis, No 5 looks like it was taken under a microscope rather than a macro lens. :eyepop:
Breathtaking details.
Excellent work Dennis !!
Some amazing detail in those shots, you're an inspiration as usual mate.
It's been a long time since I've done any macro work, I'd love to give it another try soon after seeing your work.
