Hi All,

Raced home from work on Wednesday to grab some solar action.

Just got around to processing them all in AviStack yesterday.

Seeing wasn't that great, but lots of action over most of the solar disc.

I'm still coming to terms with solar terminology so forgive me if I get the names wrong.

There were some nice plagues which I have captured as a three panel mosaic using the DMK21 and a 3x Telextender and the SolarMax40.

Then the sunspot and prominences just coming around the limb. I have not reworked the orientation of the photos, so you'll have to use your imagination or invert and rotate your monitor.

Cheers
Stuart

great detail Stuart! so much going on in each image. can I suggest a levels adjustment to improve contrast as youve managed to capture quite a lot there.

Nice work Stuart, some good action there.
Looks like you need to clean a bit of dust off your sensor too :)

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the comments.

I tried boosting the contrast a bit, made it look a bit overprocessed. My personal preference is to leave things under done than over cook them. Also I'm using a Mac to process on, with a calibrated monitor, I find that the difference gamma settings between this and PC monitors effects the way the pics look.

Cheers
Stuart

Yes, Mike, I struggle to keep the DMK clean. For planetary work this is OK as the central part is clean, but with sensor filling stuff like this I really should clean the sensor.
