One of the few bright spots about moving to the NE United States from Sydney has been the proximity of NEAF.

We got here last year in time for me to attend the 2009 version. As you might expect, I spent more money than I had intended but I could not help myself.

The show is as good as you can imagine with lots of new gear and pricing that is generally good (sometimes great) and I'd encourage you all to attend sometime if you can. The show is not just about buying gear, it is also a good opportunity to meet like minded enthusiasts and see some outstanding presentations.

My question to you all is...If you could attend NEAF, what you be interested in seeing/buying/experiencing?

the closest I can get to NEAF is the webcam feed on Cloudy nights...you are lucky to be close enough to attend (note to moderators-why isn't there a smiley for "jealous"?)

all the new products that people are bringing to market would be exciting

I believe like with Paddy's Markets here in Sydney you get the best deals on the last day when people are closing up and wanting to clear stock :)

I went in 2008 when it happened to coincide with a holiday in New York. Best thing is just being surrounded by so many like minded obsessives and seeing so much stuff in one spot. It does make you realise what an enormous industry it is in the US. Despite all the temptation I only bought one eyepiece. I had just paid for an Astro-Physics mount before leaving home though, and did enjoy meeting Roland Christen in the flesh. A few photos below.

I suspect there's going to be a lot of interest in the new CCD cameras and Astronomics are releasing a lot of new products in their Astro-Tech line.

Any variety of 10" to 12" cassegrain, including the Celestron Edge and GSO RC's.

The larger Lunt Solar scopes.

The T-Rex, though there is a pending title fight between my DM6 and W_G's soon to arrive T-Rex (I expect it'll go the full 12 rounds with both proud owners declaring victory :) ).

All of it!!

Short of that I'd probably pack a towel and go see the new equipment displays.

Hi Scott,
I see that Software Bisque will be releasing it's latest flagship The Sky X Pro at NEAF on 17th April. I will probably upgrade to this as it has many new features that will be of use to me, including it appears a better integration between Orchestrate and CCD Soft.
