Well, My Eastern Water Dragon decided to be rid of the dried up summer skin today... He's come out in the most beautiful pinstripe suit just in time for the change of seasons... In the pics you can still see a bit of his old skin on the side of his body and his rear legs... Since the photos were taken, all these flaky bits came off when he went for a swim in his pond... I'll get another photo tomorrow...
Details about the little dude...
Length : 60cm nose to tail (give or take... He's not one to sit still)
Age : 1yr 6mths
Gender : Male
Diet : Anything he wants.
Temperament : Friendly but a little jumpy at times.
He's given me quite a good snap on the finger a few times now.. Only when I get in between him and his food... or when he's in a bit of a feeding frenzy and I try to hand feed him some fruit etc.. Not that he intends to bite, just an honest mistake from a greedy guts!! :D

More great photo's. Number 2 is my favourite. Makes me wonder just what did the Dinosaurs really look like?
Great shots:thumbsup:

Thanks Duncan... Its funny, I regularly think the same thing... I've got 4 Lizards at the moment, 2 bearded dragons, the Water Dragon and a young frill neck... Their markings are all so different, sometimes with intensely vivid colouring that to the average person would have to be seen to be believed.. they also change colour frequently depending on their body temperature, mood, surroundings etc... We might know what the physical structure of dinosaurs was like, but we will never know just how magnificent an animal they really were... Given the diversity of the colours of reptiles around today, I dare say that dinosaurs were FAR more beautiful than the creators of Jurassic Park would have you believe... Even in the same species, Bearded Dragons, I've currently got a white/yellow male amd Yellow/lavender male... I had a high orange one a few months back, and I also had a lemon yellow one... I've seen bright reds, greens, browns, greys... all of them with very individual markings and patterns... I've even seen in one clutch of hatchlings 3 different colour variations and 20 hatchling lizards that were all identifiable by their markings...
I would give anything to be able to see what dinosaurs looked like - To that end, I look towards space, in search of intelligent life that can help me build a time machine out of a delorian... :D

Thanks Alex, had to laugh at the Delorian, but time travel may become a reality one day.
Yep i'd give anything to know what they really looked like as well.
Cheers:thumbsup:

I have no qualms with the idea of traveling backwards in time.. but I think traveling forwards in time presents a whole new set of difficulties and possible paradoxes.. I think even if we could get back to see the dinosaurs, You would want to take some camping supplies and a really serious rifle or three, as I believe it would be a one way trip..
