Hi All,
I added the time lapse animation from Cape Otway to a few others done last year near Flinders. 1 minute 37 seconds long video is available in HD on youtube (looks better in full-screen mode):

You poor man, forced to sit under the night sky and watch those beautiful vistas roll by...night after night.
It's a tough life but somebody has to do it.

Alex, that is awesome mate! So well done. Beautiful processing.
Can you please give details of camera, lens, focal length, f/stop, shutter speed, intervals, playback speed?
Baz.

Hi Baz, thanks for positive comments.
I use Nikon D700 with 14-24mm lens set at 14mm and wide open f/2.8. When doing time lapses I usually set the interval at every 15 seconds and ISO 3200 and batch post process with curves.
For the playback speed it really depends how much data I have, the best results are at 15 frames per second but you can get away with 10 or even 7. The animation is then encoded as 25 fps PAL avi.
Hope it helps,
Alex
