Hi,

As I post this image taken by my mate in February I thought I would practice, discover and experiment with LRGB image procesing. We were unable to guide so the image consists of 10 x 10sec lum, 10 x 5sec 2x2binning RGBs. To be honest I do not even know if I have luminence as I am using Photoshop cs3 and opened the red channel and converted it to RGB from greyscale. I then opened green, copied and pasted it in the green channel and aligned it as there was some drift. Did the same with blue and then I copied the blue layer in the channels section and pasted in the luminence. It was 32 bit and no histogram was showing so changed it to 24bit? i think and the histogram came up.Then I processed as I would normally do.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I decided to use this data as I live on the sunshine coast and I am fed up with the rain.

Our school actually scored a second hand Sirius 2.3m dome so I expect we will have rain for even longer now.

Not bad Marc though I see what looks like some vertical banding. Did you also use any noise reduction plug in because it looks like it has been a little overdone though I could be wrong as I am not too familiar with the QHY cameras.

Cheers Daniel.

Pretty neat for such short subs!! The colour looks good.
It would have been lovely to have clear skies for this weekend.
You don't need another dome do you? I've got one to give away.

I did Daniel use some of those N Carboni applications to try to smooth out the noise. when I finally get to do some imaging it will be interesting to see how things look with decent timed subs at minus 20c.
