Lunch for a native bee (at least I think it's a native bee)
Testing out the Tamron 90mm f2.8 around the garden.
Auto settings, manual focus.
iso400, 400th sec, f5.6
Bit hard to see him, but presume he's the black creature at bottom of pic amidst that pretty purple flower? Watch out getting close to those bitey insects :eyepop: Look forward to seeing more

Nice shot Jeanette. These are quite tiny insects, only 3-5mm in size I think? I can make out the eye, antennae and the pollen sacs on its back legs.

Looks like the bee is about to get eaten by the purple people eater.
Great shot jjj.
Cheers Kev.

Nice shot - have you tried closing the aperture a little to get some more depth of field?
The other factors look like you still have a little to play with as long as there is not too much movement from wind etc . You could close the aperture a couple of stops which would take the shutter speed down to 1/100s or you could go a couple more stops and take the ISO up. Would be nice to see a little more depth...
Mostly though, I am just jealous that I don't have the time (not to mention the lens) to go photographing the tiny things in my garden...
Cheers

Gets a bit lost - the bee if thats what it is. I have heard there is a new Tammy 90 coming out in Sept.
Best wishes.

Thanks for looking.:)
I'm still learning to use the lens. Hope to have something a bit more worthy next time.
