This is my first attempt at NGC 5128.
Was taken with a canon 350D & Baader MPCC, through a 8 inch Newt on an unguided EQ5. Taken from my back yard in a suburb close to the centre of Canberra so the sky is not very dark. Will try again with a sky glow filter.
Image comprised of 11 x 20sec light frames, and darks & flats etc.

Could do with a bit better alignment for longer exposures, but its just fun seeing what I can get with the equipment I have.

More practice at processing the images could help as well.

Cheers

Chris

That's an excellent image for your set up.
I've been down this road myself, using an alt azi mount. LOL I was the queen of the 20sec sub.
My only advice is take more subs. 50...60... or more. Fill your card.
What ISO were you shooting at?
Keep pushing the envelope Chris, you're learning valuable skills that will serve you well further down the imaging path.

Thanks jjjnettie

With 50 or 60 subs how many darks/flat/etc would you do.
I was shooting at 1600ISO, would you recommend 800iso.

I'd be using your ICNR. That way you don't have to take darks at all.
15 or 20 flats would do nicely.
ISO.... it's up to you. There's a little less noise at 800, but you get so much more detail with 1600.
