Glad to see the clouds off for a while!

Wanted to image the "complete" Rosette Nebula so took this last night.

40 min total (540sec exposure times x 6. Darks, flats applied) (INCR off)

Modded Canon 350d, ED80. Processed in PSCS2 (colour balance, white point, Noise reduction)

Thanks for viewing

Comments welcomed

Note: I will be positng a link to high res shortly

This looks pretty good at this scale. Heaps of detail too and all looking quite sharp. It might look differently at a larger resolution, but for now that is what I think.

Only real issue I can see is the sky background looks a little magenta to me. You might want to take a look at that perhaps.

Very nice iamge all the same.

Looks good Dr Paul. Some nice sharp detail in there.

I agree with P Haese, background looks a little magenta colored, but that may be due to your processing in trying to bring out the faint background nebulosity ?

Thanks for the feedback Paul, Trevor, and Leinad. I have now taken onboard the feedback and attached is what I beleive to be a far less magenta version with increased star colours! ;)

Also here ia a link to the high res version http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt21/coolhandjo/pbROSETTE-NEBULA-15-3-10-fi.jpg

Havn't cropped any of the images.

That's looking lovely Dr Paul, I'd be most happy with that.
The modded DSLR must be a godsend for those "little red buggers".

Dr. Paul,

Your reprocess is wonderful -- my kind of processing, nice, soft and subtle.

I can only think though, that you may need to work on your flat frames a little to even out the illumination of the field.

Otherwise, keep it up!
