Eskimo nebula, NGC 2392

Hi all,

this was my first try at DSO imaging for a few months, due to cloud and work. Tried the Orion delux OAG, but didn't find any stars. I moved the scope to the Beehive cluster to make sure the OAG was in focus with the Orion starshoot auto guider. I took over 70 exposures of 30 seconds, and only got 12 that were acceptable for DSS to stack. The next thing I will have to do is get the PEC working on the Titan mount.

The Eskimo in Gemini is magnitude 9.1, its size is 0.9'x0.9'

Captured with 14" LX200 at f6.3, and Astro 40D, iso 800.

Thats a dim one Lester but a good target for the 14" hope you have more luck than I did with the OAG I tried

Thanks Trevor, my next plan is to get the FOV in The Sky program and see where the potential guide stars are, instead of just taking pot luck.

Hi Marc and Mike, thanks for your comments.

Mike, I can still do wide field imaging. Now I only mount the 14" SCT on the Titan, or the FS102 and 160mm Astrograph. All 3 scopes mounted side by side had problems with hitting the pier and limiting movement. Also I was still getting tracking error with the 14" so am trying a Orion off axis guider.
