Went for a walk with the 350D during my lunchbreak at work today, aronud Berry Island near North Sydney..
Here's a couple of shots..
Nothing done to them except resize + reduce quality for post.
I've never really done bird photography before, because my camera didn't have a long enough zoom, but with the 300mm it lets me at least try it.. not sure i'm into it yet. Can be very frustrating, and i'm sure you'd get sick of a thousand shots of magpies or miner birds :)
Also found a nice smudge of some kind in the centrepoint shot, around the middle up the top against the blue sky.. Hope it's only on the lens and not the CCD. :tasdevil:

Nice shots Mike! That smudge would have me slightly concerned also.

Very nice pictures Mike.
Just dont take any pictures of Kids or we might see you on the 6:00pm news.
You must get a long lunch....hahaha
The smudge is probably a reaction on the camera's behalf for not being in a Lowepro bag.

Most people take the dog for a walk... But not our Mike! Good to see you have the 350D walking already! Have you taught it any words yet? :D..
I also have a small smudge on my 300D (it was on the lens). Very similar. Never worried about it. I wouldn't be too concerned. No one except you will notice it :) unless you tell everyone of course :nerd:
Nice shots by the way!

Mike do you or have you constantly changed lenses, if so I think it is on your CCD IMHO. I get them alot with changing mounts /lenses.

Thanks for the comments guys.. I try to change lenses as infrequently as possible, but I think it definitely is on the CCD.
I had the the shorter lens on yesterday afternoon (18-55) and I found the same spot on some of my storm shots.. waaaah now I have to clean the ccd!

Most likeley dust on the sensor Mike, it's more visible at smaller apertures i.e. F8 and above. You'll probably find that a gentle puff with a blower brush (bristles removed) will dislodge it. To minimise the chance of dust on the sensor change lenses with the Canon face down. :camera:
