M104 with 10" GSO RC and Canon 50D

Hi Guys,

At last I have some kinda of result to post - cool and clear weather here in perth finally!

M104 using a canon 50D, 6 x 10min shots at ISO 800, Processed in DSS and tweaked in Photoshop CS4.
This image has had 5-10% cropped off due to my bad framing after doing a focus check at the 30 min mark :)
Need to get some kind of field flattener into the mix with the DSLR though.

Nice result with a hint of detail in the upper part of the disk. A little evidence of vignetting that flats will take out.

Glad too see you are out there imaging planning for Tammin this month

you'll need a lot more subs for this one to really bring out detail

Darks and flats for DSLR's should be captured on the same night (I've been told this many times) darks preferably after the lights

Trevor: Im still in the "getting to know your scope" phase ATM. Taking darks and flats will happen but only if I want a serious image to result. Just waiting for some kind of Cooled ccd camera to turn up on the doorstep in the not to distant future ;)

The collimation is still out by 5 degrees as reported in ccd inspector too :( just waiting for another good night to finish this off but I am pleased with the results so far.
