Eight Burst Nebula is a small planetary in Vela.
GS 10" RC on G11. Canon 5D MarkII 10 x 2 Minutes ISO 800 flats applied. No darks. Stacked in DSS.
This has been cropped due to the small size of the object.

No problem with the stars. look pretty tight! Colour on the target shows up ok too! Just need to try and get a bit closer and it would be perfect. :)

Guiding looks great Frank.. Is this a 100% crop? The image you posted is pretty tiny, its hard to get a good look at it..
Good to see you had it out though mate! Bet it was an exciting time! :)

Alex,
It really is a very small object but I love PN and want to image them. The earlier post is a 100% crop. I have attached the original for comparison.
Got lots of data last night as the weather was perfect.
I am so happy with the rig. It works beautifully. Now if I only had some idea about processing.

Yeah I knew the target was small.. I suppose having the large sensor in the 5D doesn't help either! :) Last time I imaged this object was with my C11 + ST10 at F/10.. 2800mm FL is a nice way to get up close and personal with these targets! :)
Very happy to hear its all working nicely for you mate... I bet you were extremely happy to have the 10" out sucking down light! :)

Frank two minute subs for this one are too short IMO when I did it with the 8" mine were 6 minute subs
Cheers
