Hi All
This is one of those subjects where I have had several attempts since I started imaging the night sky, this is a wide field shot taken with the Takahashi FSQ106ED and Starlight Xpress H36 on a Paramount ME. It is 10x20 minutes witha 5nm Ha filter with auto guiding done by a Lodestar camera and OAG using dithering. Although it was clear there was a lot of sky glow even before the moon came up.
This is a relatively faint object and really does benefit from the longer 20 minute sub frames even at f5. Hopefully if I get time and some more clear weather I will add the OIII and SII otherwise it will have to wait until it comes round again later in the year. My earlier efforts can be seen in the image gallery of my website http://www.imagingtheheavens.co.uk (http://www.imagingtheheavens.co.uk/) and a full size high resolution uncropped image can be seen on my oher website http://www.pbase.com/imaging_the_heavens
Thanks for looking
Best wishes
Gordon

Wow. Love the detail that the 5nm filter let through! Fine and crisp. :)

Impressive Gordon. Great to see the full expanse of nebulosity. Certainly a grand view of the region. 10x20min subs I would have thought would deliver a smoother result and perhaps allow you to push the shadows a little harder. Well done.

Gordon,

That's superb, mate. Well done.

Would love to re-attempt this region in monochrome next season. With the STL!
