Hello everyone

I hope to see a few IIS members up at the ASV dark sky site this year. All the info is posted on the ASV website: http://www.asv.org.au/

Let's hope for good weather again like we had at the StarBBQ. I'll be out the back on the imaging field as per usual - feel free to drop by and say g'day. :astron:

Skippy Sky predicts clear skies....just like they are now. Bags are packed, leaving in a couple of hours.

A wonderful clear night was had by about 200 people at the Messier Party. A small amount of light, high level cloud appeared around sunset but had cleared by the time it was dark. I would like to thank all who were involved, including those who attended. The Lions Club provided a selection of meals, not necessarily with a heart tick, but you just can't beat a sausage in bread or bacon and egg sandwich some times, topped off with a glass of wine!

I wandered around both fields through the early evening and could see a number of those with telescopes only too keen to share their knowledge and equipment with each other. I hit the sack around midnight, but I am sure many continued until the crack of dawn.

Hope to see you all again next year!

What a beautiful night it was, made even better by the helpfulness and generosity of all who were there.
I actually found the hamburger and M83 all by myself in my little 5inch.

Thankyou all.
Molly. :D

I concur, great night, viewing was superb. Large crowd and about 30 to 40 telescopes operating, which made the vieing field quite congested, with plenty of options. The 27" Obsession telescope was fantastic. Well done ASV.

Don't forget the 15-20 scopes down on the photographic field and the great presentation given by Ken on the Messier Objects.
