View Full Version here: : Saturn, March 2
Here's an image of Saturn from this morning (march 2 utc) in reasonable seeing, but not great. Saturn looks pretty quiet at this longitude.

Another cracker Anthony,
Its good to see the rings becoming more open, I stared at that for about 5 minutes and almost got lost in it, it felt like I was in orbit. The image scale is fantastic. 5 x Powermate?
Nice colours too, seems like a smidge of onion ring on the right limb? maybe sharpened a bit too much? :scared3:
I really should get off my butt and get out there and give it a go again, sorry for the critique, considering that I am not worthy :prey2:
Cheers
Chris

Another beauty Bird,
Thanks for sharing.
Regards

Thanks Chris, it looks like this artifact is coming from the camera, not the processing. I'm checking into this with PGR (the manufacturer). This artifact is there in the raw data after stacking.
cheers, Bird
Nice detail their Bird :D
On the front page of your website you have a image of Saturn which is a cracker by the way. The colour is a lot different to what is being imaged in 2010 I was wondering why the difference in colour?
Is it because of the different altitude?
Does Saturn change colour over time?

Great to see Saturn images after the closing of the rings.
This is a super shot!
Thanks Troy, partly the rings are dimmer because they are tilted only about 5 degrees to the sun, they will get brighter in the next couple of years.
most of the difference in colour probably comes from changes to the way I process things, maybe now I'm getting closer to the right colour :-)
But also I guess Saturn changes over the years, like Jupiter does. When you compare old images like this:

it does look quite different.
