View Full Version here: : Mars, March 2
Here's an image of Mars from last night in reasonably good seeing, probably going to be the best I can get until it gets a bit higher in the sky in a few years time...
Image is IR(742nm)/G/B with 120 seconds of IR and 60 seconds of G & B.

Wonderful, I wish I could see it like that myself.
Anthony, the bare aluminium OTA tube you have, how is it for dew?

Far out that is good!
Looks like you have captured a storm or similar on the right limb as well.
Best Mars to date, I reckon.
Well done.
Cheers

Reckon thats your best for this apparition Bird.
Still a shame that the G & B seem to saturate the NPC and detract from the detail that is plainly there in IR.

Trevor
David, I reckon a bare aluminium tube is the best option, the al follows the air temp very closely and doesn't dew up.
Also, no tube currents since the al is close to air temp.
Only thing is to keep it out of sunlight during the day, the al gets very hot!
