Just beautiful, Pete. I hope I can get something similar in 2012.

Lovely shot Peter. Just how I remember seeing it from North of Lyndhurst. It was clear of cloud but very windy where we were.
Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks guys...I guess the repro wasn't too shabby. Ceduna was very hit and miss, as people just a few hundred metres north of my position (on the beach front) managed to avoid a small cloud that shaded people at my location during totality.

Great pic i remember the trip it took me to get there 3 days on a bus and the 32 seconds of totality was well worth it :)

I was there! But all I had was a 2MP Point and Shoot at the time:

nice pics mate, all i had was a camcorder with a solar filter on it, it was my first solar eclipse so i spent most of my time watching it with the naked eye cos i was amazed by it lol, check my camcorder and got the whole thing on film. But all in all i great time and was well worth spending the days on a greyhound bus lol

We drove from Brisbane with a 10 month old child, who on the journey down cut 4 teeth. We took it easy and drove for 5 days... worth every second and every inch for the 32 seconds of totality.
Peter we were on the foreshore and enjoyed the totality cloud free. We heard that others copped the clouds at that time... my condolences. Here is my old effort.

We got away late from Canberra and drove for 28 hours straight to reach Copley near Leigh Creek about half an hour before totality.
The last couple of hours I was doing the pinhole viewer thing on the seat beside me and really sweating on whether we would get to a decent spot.
I had my T90 film camera and a Sony Mavica (the 4 images to a floppy one). I'll have to look the prints/slides out.
We'd planned to go to Ceduna but couldn't do it in the time. The dirt/outback style caravan park at Copley gave us a bush to park by for that night and the whole trip was a truly memorable experience.
We did take a week driving home and visited some scenic spots and a few wineries (hic!).

I see that you were there, we even captured your group in one of the images we took that afternoon. I just occurred to me that the photo on your site might not be your group... Anyway we imaged the same group of people at least. Your image i in the upper right of the one below.
I thought your scene looked familiar... we were maybe 50 metres from your position?
