It's been a long time between images and tonight looked like the night.
All setup and working fine. Filters in the wheel ready to give a crack at Eta Carina in NB.
The big stuff up for tonight. I focused beautifully on the last filter slot without any filters and set the wheels in motion. You fool Doug.
After 3 hrs of images I find not one in focus because I didn't focus through a filter.
Maybe next time.:help::mad2::help:

Doh moment OK. New QHY9, new RC8 and the best I can get is about 1/2 an hour of exposure which is not enough. It's taken a long time to get eveything working well then I go and do this. Back on night shift again so no more chances for a while.
Mike here is one of the quick test shots of NGC 3324, needs lots more exposure but it has the basics I suppose. Also Eta Carina again very short on exposure and some blown out stars but OK for 1/2 hours worth of total exposure in 2 minute subs. I am going to fit the camera to the FSQ now that I have the adapters I needed so it should be interesting.
Come on weather and work, be kind to me.
Not a bad result Doug. Highs and lows are a fact of imaging. Strong magenta cast on 3324, but Eta looks good. Hope you get your problems sorted out soon.
Cheers

My sympathies Doug.
Not as bad as a 4 hr manually guided exposure on the top of Mt Donna Buang (Victoria) in the middle of winter in below freezing conditions. Everything was OK except I forgot to load the camera with film.:)
Steven
Coming together very nicely Doug. First stirrings of a beast of a duo with the RC and QHY9 me thinks! The Eta is my fav from those 2. That's cruel about the filters. :(

Ouch man... That sucks... I've done it.. I can't laugh...
The Gabriella Mistral image is quite nice... your guiding is spot on, and in this shot, the focus doesn't appear too bad... The eta shot shows good colour, but the focus issue is a lot more obvious...
Better luck next time... I'm quite sure the KAF8300 + RC8 will do you well, its proving to be a good setup with quite a few people at the helm.

Hi Doug!:hi:
Keep at it mate! I haven't had the time to hardly get my cold, let alone catch any decent photons. And when I do, I can't get the flattener right so my stars are way ugly.
Night shift? That's suck big time! Will you be on it for long?:question:
