It's just the head, right?
How does it attach to the scope?
I'm just thinking of planning ahead for when I:
a) borrow Louie's GPDX Vixen EQ mount
b) Get a cheap refractor
c) Piggyback my 350D on top

Is this for you 350D.
It wont have any trouble holding the 350D but I think the next size up is a better choice if your looking for long exposure Mike....
Just want to make sure you know what your getting.
Do you want me to take a picture of it attached to my canon...you may be surprised how small it is...but like I said...it's real strong.

yeh it's for my 350D, just so the camera can point straight up and in different directions while piggybacked I suppose.
I dunno, i'm a DSO astrophotography newbie :)

Here is a pic Mike.
My 20DA with 17-40L series lense would be heavier then your set up...
It can only just hold it in place at different angles with this amount of weight....but only just....it is right at it's limit.
So if you want...I can send it to you....if it's not suitable send it back to me.

It's up to you Tony, I won't be ready to use it for a while yet (maybe not even until next year) so if you want to sell it someone else, just go for it and i'll buy something else when the time comes.

Mike....I would prefer to sell it to someone who will use it with a slightly smaller camera..
Even though I used this Manfrotto to take some 30 second widefield shots with my 100 F2 lense I would recommend the next size up Manfrotto for a much stronger support. pictures as below.
This Item is Ideal for something smaller then a DSLR.
Even though I am happy to sell this to you I would not be happy if it did not meet your expectations.
So it's still up for grabs people.

Is the Manfrotto 482 ball head still for sale at AU$40 delivered?
If so I'm very interested.
Thanks
