The Astronomical Society of the Hunter have arranged a public astronomy night on Friday the 4th Feb at 7:30 pm with supper and viewing to follow. Any of you are more than welcome to attend and it's 'kid friendly'.
They are a truly progressive club with lots of friendly amateurs only too willing to join in and assist newcomers or advanced amateurs.
The society have their own observatory set up on the grounds at KURRI KURRI N.S.W. and the skies are DARK! I've been invited to give a Powerpoint presentation on astronomy and conduct a sky tour afterwards, and we'll probably run a DVD received direct from NASA titled 'Ring World' - all about the Cassini mission.
If you're new to astronomy turn up - we're doing this for you to help you learn. If you're in the advanced league also turn up and join in, you'll be made welcome. Should be a geat night of viewing.
