I always find it hit and miss when trying to image the really faint stuff in Vela.
I obtained some images from APOD by Rob Gendler and Axel Mellinger. I think they are the best available.

I used RegiStar to superimpose the images on the Maps. The tricks to do this successfully would take another thread.
