SOLD
Unitron 75mm f1200 refractor (3 inch). Performance is surprisingly good when compared to a 100mm ED Skywatcher on the planets, it surprised me. Tube has been repainted in red and the black sections in crinkle finish paint. The lens has a few fungus spots,( see the photo) and the finder scope has fungus (see photo) and one of the focus wheels is missing. The tripod is in good original condition.
$350.00 plus Shipping.

I had one very similar to this when i was a kid.such ashame its a garish red colour,i think might have bought this if it was its original white colour.

Hmmm. Are you willing to negotiate price? Like half? That's not in very good nick especially the red paint and the focuser. Personally I would buy it for the objective lens cell (which clearly has been screwed together by self tappers) and junk the rest and build a "new" scope around that. (I have plenty of focusers/finders/tube rings etc if you are open to negotiation.

This is a classic Unitron, red or not - and deserves to be re-built if anything...

At $350 it's a bargain, which I'd buy and restore if I hadn't just bought my camera. Damn!

Good luck with the sale Hugh. I truly hope it'll go to someone who respects and understands its history.

I think my response was directed to the seller. Not to a third party.

Dear Hugh,

Is this system still available, and if so what is the total cost incl shipment to Melbourne (you can get a courier to ship this such as Fastway as www.fastway.com.au (http://www.fastway.com.au)).

If your cost is reasonable for shipment (to Melbourne Metro region) I will take it and pay cash to your nominated bank account the next business day.

With thanks.

Rgds,
Cris,

I hope we all get to see this scope in its restored state,it will be most magiacal,i had a closer look at pics, there is a fairly large amount of work to do.

I am sure many I.I.S members look forward to seeing how the project turns out.
