View Full Version here: : Saturn
Hi,
this is my tiny Saturn from last Saturday night. The time was 14:35 UT, object size was 19.2 arcseconds and altitude was 55 degrees. I'm not really happy with the colour yet but this is something I will have to work on.

Hi Troy,
Thats a very good job, nice and crisp and you have some nice banding in the atmosphere. I like the colour as well. With Saturn the colour is very subtle, unlike Jupiter for instance.
Well done
Regards
Trevor
Thanks Trevor,
My C9.25 struggled to gather enough light. I guess on Saturn the larger scopes really show better capabilities.
:)
Nice work Troy, and Saturn is very difficult for scopes < 10", I had lots of trouble esp. with the blue channel when I was using a 10" scope a few years ago. All you can do is keep the image scale down to where you can get enough brightness.

I'd be very happy with that Troy:thumbsup:
You have some good detail. And it's early days for Saturn just now:)

Very nice... I would be happy with that too.
Thanks Bird, Matt, Clayton and Tom for your experiences and comments. I'm hoping for some more good weather this weekend so I can get out amongst it. :D

I think this is a really nice and natural Saturn.

Thanks Mike and telecasterguru.
It's the blue look about it I don't like. Most of the Hubble's pictures have a more brown or yellow look to it.
