I have for sale a 12 inch (300mm) f4.8 Newtonion telescope. It is 1.5metres long with a telrad and sight scope attached. The mirrors are in excellent condition, and had little use. It has a 25mm and a 12
mm eye piece. It is on four wheels and also weights attached to balance the telescope. It is solidly constructed. Some of the axles are solid 40mm diameter.
It has a 12V azimuth motor controlled via a 240V transformer. It has flexible manual hand controllers in both horz and vert. directions.
Price for pickup in Rockhampton Qld $1400.
Thanks

Hi Troppo,
Do you have any pics of the scope? What kind of mirror is it? Is it mass-produced scope or custom built by you or any well known obsession builder? Thanks.

Gday Troppo
At the bottom of nthe page select manage attachments (may have to click on advanced to get there ) then browse for the image on your computer, upload and its done. I thinks its 250k limit for jpgs from memory

Thanks for that. I do wonder though, how many of your subscribers know how to do that. Surely I can't be the only one. If you don't ask you will never know.
I have browsed through the forums but couldn't find anything on the subject.
Perhaps now they will know?

Here are some pictures. It weighs about 60Kg. It can be easily dismantled for transport.

That looks like an older quality unit. What brand or whom made it and what is the mirror maker?

Looks nice. Is this the same scope you purchased from Mike Gandy? http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=45342 The description of the gears looks like yours. It looks very well made. Can you describe how smooth the gears perform?

Hello again. Yes it is the same scope. He made this himself, and yes it is well made. I think he got the mirror from USA. He showed me the package it came in. The gears are well made. I have no trouble keeping up smoothly with the moon using a super 10 eyepiece. I can see right inside the craters of the moon or see the moons of Jupiter. It also has an azimuth motor and controller.
Hope this helps
