Today was my first day out in the yard with my new Canon EOS 450D DSLR. So the quality isn't perfect.

I thought I would show you some of the plants in my yard and a few other shots. I hope to be more creative with them in the future.

All shots are hand held. Most using the basic Closeup setting. All using Automatic Focus. Some used flash.

I am not looking for praise or tips on how to improve my shots. There are 19 here. One picture wasn't worth uploading.:(

Great to see you up and going with the camera Henry. Give the manual focus a go.

Thank you David. Based on the results, manual focus would have got the right parts of the pictures in focus.

I own a 35mm SLR but the controls on the DSLR are a bit different. When I'm more familiar with the way the DSLR works, I'll be able to be more creative with my shots.:thumbsup:
