Hello all.

I have come here today to ask what I am doing wrong with my DSLR images stacked in DSS. I have had about three try's at this and they are definitely improving. Though they all seem to be similar. As in not many stars and doesn't look 'milky'.

This image is 16 shots stacked, at 30s, around f-4.0 and 400 ISO I believe.

That's because 30 seconds isn't really long enough.

You can see in your image that the sky background and light pollution is washing out details that are typically captured from a dark site.

So if I were to go somewhere much darker, I would see a significant improvement?

And you say 30s isn't long enough, I dont think the time could be increased much more due to trailing.
