Thought I'd bang this one up. Not as good an image as I wanted, twas awash with light pollution gradients so a good chunk of it went with the pollution. I really need that new wheel nosepiece that takes LP filters. Also see that line running to the right from the star on the right ... what the?

QHY9 - 10" Newt - Cropped image no correctors.

2hours L binned x1, 45min RGB binned x2.

Yeah!! That's one of my "must do" targets. Good on you. I read somewhere that those lines will occur when a star oversaturates and the Anti-Blooming isn't working properly. A possibility?

A really great go at the Antennae galaxies given your extreme light pollution situation mate.. that 10" really has the guts to suck the dim stuff out doesn't it! :)

My findings so far with the 8300 + LPS filter is that it makes the world of difference.. I took a few lum frames last new moon without it, and a few with it, processed them the same and the difference in the images is extreme.. You'll be laughing with that new nose piece!

I can't wait to see you hunt down some galaxies with this big photon funnel!!

Yep, I might give it away till the nosepiece turns up and I can get a filter on it. What's coming out of it is not easy to deal with, check this mess out. Might organise a shield for the end of the tube as well.

Pete, Yes it's tied up with antiblooming. I've been told they have everything set on a hair trigger to keep sensor sensitivity as high as possible. Others got around it by using normal download speed instead of slow. I guess I'll try that but it means new gain/offset/bias and darks :(

Holy hell thats some gradient problem!! You can clearly see the tails of the galaxies though.. so at least you know there is hope!!

A shield for the tube is a good plan.. will slow dew down a bit, may even stop it completely, and will increase contrast by stopping stray light from entering tube so easily... Downside is it will increase the 10"s 'sail area' a bit..
