Nebulosity tells me that I am only allowed 30 second exposures unless I specially set it for longer exposures.

I am using a 350D on manual RAW.

How do I set the camera so that I can capture longer exposures?

Thanks

Don't think you can on a 350D without using something like DSUSB from Shoestring Astronomy (http://www.store.shoestringastronomy.com/products_ds.htm). Newer cameras from the 40D and 450D (I think) don't need the DSUSB but earlier do.

This is one of the ways u can do it Frank

or use a remote like the TC-80N3 but that costs a whole lot more :)

Made my own so not 2 hard to do or buy one ?

I used Michael Covington's instructions to make my cable.

I'm a gumby when it comes to building these types of things, but, if I can pull it off, then, anyone can.

I bought all the bits from Dick Smith.

I was going to mention that you could use timer remotes like those above, or a cheap eBay one (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Timer-Remote-for-Canon-400D-350D-450D-33-XTi-R8A9_W0QQitemZ110436476134QQcmdZVie wItemQQptZAU_Cameras_Photographic_A ccessories?hash=item19b686e4e6) like I have, but I haven't used it with Nebulosity. They're handy to have regardless for long exposures for things other than astro.

Just wanted to clear this up.

I have a shutter release to use with my 350D which will allow for exposures longer than 30 seconds. If I am running the camera through nebulosity, will the external shutter release override nebulosity and allow for captures of longer than 30 seconds?
