A few local birds taking flight. Observing and learning to read the bird's body language helps with the timing.

Brown Pelican (immature), Snowy Egret, Green Heron, Tricolored Heron (immature), American Oystercatcher, Belted Kingfisher.

Three is a winner, the rest are great too!
In three did you blur that bush in PP? It's bothering me a bit, perhaps too much blur? Something is not right with the tranfer from log, to air plant, to bush.
If that is just your DoF then fantastic, i'm just getting the feeling there is something else going on there.

That warm yellow is just to die for, morning or afternoon? You could perhaps even jack the sat a bit more on the yellows, love the hue in the photo.

Great images again Steve!

Thanks much Warren and Mitchell.

Warren, I'm trying to decide which shot to enter. I'll toss something in within the week, thanks for the reminder.

Mitchell, The bush at the bottom is actually a distant tree top. This bird was pretty high up. It might be the contrasting sharpness of the Spanish Moss that's the issue. I was surprised in that shot that the bird wasn't more blurred given the low morning light.

Thank you very much Liz, Troy and Jeff.

Liz, Yes the juveniles are a bland overall brown color. The adults have the white head. I'll post some of them soon.

Troy, you're good. That is indeed lady Bella. I've collected quite an album on her.

Jeff, if I had it my way I'd spend every day out in the wild shooting. But for now it's the weekend mornings and an occasional late afternoon.
