Iss?

:eyepop:WOW yesterday night Was amazing.

I had the telescope set up outside waiting for it to get really dark when from out of nowhere i saw this really bright sattelite and i thought that it must be the iss ,i hadn't seen the iss before and it was a thrilling experience i ran inside grabbed the digital camera and took a few shots was going to try to take a long exposure trail but didn't have the tripod.

I then came inside to inspect the photographs and and all i see is a bright dot on the lcd screen but as i zoomed in i could actually make out what i think is the body of the iss and the solar panels.I was so excited.
I'm pretty sure it was the iss as i checked on heavens above and verified:D.Wow does it move fast.

So here are 2 images of what i think is the iss.
Between the 2 images you can actually see it rotating:D.

Any tips on how to improve the images will be greatly apreciated i know there not that good quality.Also if someone could label the image so i know what i'm actually looking at,that will be great.Is there a space shuttle on it at the moment?

I have only seen the ISS once myself, it really moves fast and I was also blown away of the sight of the it

Hi Orestis

If it checked out on the predicted time, then is would be the ISS (with space shuttle attached). Sadly, your photos will just be showing camera movement. You need telescopic magnifications and fairly sophisticated tracking and capture to see structure.

Oh o.k still it looks remarkably like a sattelite.:lol:.

atik_instruments group at yahoo

The satellitetracker group at yahoo isn't a bad place to start learning how to track satellites.

The ISS went over yesterday at 8:41pm with the shuttle about five degrees ahead of it (dimmer dot). It was a marvelous sight. I had been trying to image it but something failed to work with the orbital elements. Meade. A taste of something great, but it's so hard to make the last mile.
