Nice star cluster (M46) with a planetary (NGC2438) in the same line of sight. It is unclear whether or not the planetary is physically associated with the cluster.
I took this one about a month ago, but I had labled the red frames as luminance and the L as red. Couldn't work out why I couldn't get the colour right, nor why I had taken so many reds. Fortunately Maxim keeps track of the filter used via the FITS header( but takes no responsibility for the idiot setting up the file names).
Scope: WO ZS110
Camera: QSI 540wsg
Exposure:5 x 5 min RGB, 8 x 5min L
Mount: GM8
Cropped to 40' x 40' from 60' x 60'
Image capture in MaximDL, Stacking and digital development in CCDStack, finished in Photoshop.
