well just finished aligning and cloud covered the entire sky
gave up in disgust and packed up and now its clear again
arghhhhhhhh
the cloud came over eventually but i got some great seeing. I dint know how long it'd last so i whizzed around the universe visiting some old friends and some new ones too.
helix neb looked good as it was inthe dark section of sky, as was pavo which means i had a chance to hunt down a galaxy (can remember its number) near the pavo glob :). the 30mm SV is a great EP for hunting down dim galaxies, once found i moved to 20mm GSO, which dimmed my view. I should havegone for the 15mm SV as it gives a lighter FOV than a standard 20mm GSO plossl. at mag 8.3 i think it was it didnt offer any real detail.
did a few doubles and the nebs in the LMC.
I wasnt out for long but it was all good and it cured my cabin fever. :)
