GS 600
200mm (8") Newtonian Reflector Telescope with EQ mount

Excellent Pre-Loved Condition - Rarely Used
OPEN TO OFFERS!!! CURRENT OFFER STANDS AT $325.
HURRY!! OFFERS CLOSE FRIDAY 5th March!

This excellent piece of equipment comes complete with an Equatorial Mount, instruction manual, view finders and many other pieces that I don't even know what they are. The big round grey part had a few scuff marks from being bundled around in storage, as does the legs on the tripod. Other than that, and a bit of dust, it's in great nick. I am selling the whole lot. I do not know the first thing about telescopes and am selling this on behalf of my father in law who hardly used it. At one time several years ago he had a brief interest in astrology and his children decided to all put in a good amount of money and buy him a telescope, none of whom knew the first thing about telescopes. We thought if we spend a lot of money we would get a quality item, however we ended up getting something that was way out of his league. He hardly used it, probably only once or twice when he first got it and managed to find the moon in the view finder! He is in his 70s now and has no interest in it what so ever. It is just sitting in the back room collecting dust. Who ever buys this will get an absolute bargain as we are all just glad to see the back of it and de-clutter the room. I have no idea what to ask for this thing so I will put it up for the best offer and whoever gives us a good price will get it. I don't even know what we paid for it but I know it was over $1000. Pick up is from Parklea, NSW (North Western Sydney) and Cash on pick up is the only method of payment we can accept. You are welcome to arrange for a third party to pick the item up as long as payment is made prior. In this case we can give you bank details for a deposit, however I would assume anyone wanting to buy it would want to look at it in person first. May be able to include delivery depending on the area (please ask!), or if you are within certain parts of Sydney I may be able to arrange delivery for a nominal fee. Please feel free to contact me on 0403 392 756 or my email glx74@aussiebroadband.com.au for any further info.

Hi Lisa
Welcome to the forum
Check out this link http://www.andrewscom.com.au/site-section-10.htm
This shop in Greystance is selling a similar scope(GSO630: a newer version but same size) for $649 brand new on the same tripod. This one has a better finderscope, upgraded focuser and 3 eyepieces plus cooling fan.
From your photos I can only see 2 eyepieces. The other long "tube" inside the tray is a polar-axis finderscope that screws into the axis of the mount.
Hope you find these info useful.
Good luck with your selling

Sorry Alex, I've looked everywhere on it and on the instruction manual but I can't seem to find a make anywhere. I would say at an uneducated guess that the GS probably stands for Guan Sheng. Please read this email that someone sent me yesterday in regards to this sale....
This is the message that was sent:

Hello Lisa,
I spoke to you on the phone on Friday. As I said I am interested in this telescope, however I just saw the ad on Friday and would like a bit more time if this is possible to look into it as I am not quite familiar with this model but it sounds like it might have what I need. Would it be at all possible to hold off making a decision for a few days? Please let me know. As I mentioned, I am in Castle Hill, so pick up would not be a problem if I was to agree to purchase the telescope.
Best Regards,
Ben
