gday Doug
Now that is just great. Fantastic perspective as well. Gives a great idea of whats going on in the region.
Interesting dark nebula diagonally across the loop from M78 - I probably should know what that is but i dont.
Fantastic mate. It deserves to go straight to Daryl Kerrigans Pool Room Wall.

Doug,
Looking good.
Although, you need to punch the blues and greens up in the mid-tone to highlights region. There is an obvious bias towards red in the image.

Doug,
Doesn't look too over cooked to me. I like it a lot. Great work.

That is a beautiful vista! Shows the extent of the nebulosity of the Orion region. :thumbsup:
One small criticism - the trap in M42 is burnt :P:P;)

Outstanding! You're really taking wide field to new heights Doug.. Loving your work...
Mark - That dark neb across the loop from M78 is LDN1622.. Given that it is classified as a dark nebula, its actually fairly bright.. Easily imaged from dark skies..
Mr Robertson, that is some nice work :eyepop: and very well executed, a fantastic effort i might add, :thumbsup: and the colour is spot on. :thumbsup:
Nice work Dougie. ;)

Wow there is so much going on out in space! It certainly is not the empty void we imagine it to be.

Thanks Gentlemen:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Cheers H - I've tweaked the high res version with your comments in mind and also tried to get on top of the noise issue without getting that unnatural look (hopefully)
Thanks guys - and I'll make you a lover of widefield yet Bert!!
You should have seen it without the layer mask!!!!!!
Thanks all:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Craig - how's things? It's gonna be winter by the time you get the Tak out again!;)
Cheers Rob - it's the first time I've used the 70-200mm f4L lens on the night sky for just under a year!! I'm pretty happy with it's performance...it's a classy piece of glass!:P
A fantastic image Doug, the activity going on in the Orion region is nothing short of amazing.
Lovely work.
